 Not Just Your Average Trivia Game

 Unlike other trivia games, Horrorivia isn’t simply a bunch of game cards containing random trivia questions about everything under the sun.  Instead, Horrorivia trivia cards are designed to take the player through the entire horror movie from beginning to end by asking relative trivia questions about the movie.  By using this technique, players can actually experience the movie over again by answering the questions contained on each movie trivia card.  Each movie trivia card contains an average of 12 to 13 questions about a specific movie.  Through the process of going through the sequentially presented questions, players will actually relive the movie in their minds. 

Horrorivia questions give the players background information about the movie and then ask about particular scenes or events that occurred.  Questions come in the form of multiple-choice, true or false, fill in the blank and short answer.

You Don’t Need to be a Horror Movie Expert to Play
 and Enjoy the Game

Horrorivia was designed to be played by horror buffs at all levels of expertise, but with a different approach.  You won’t be asked who directed each movie, who the makeup artist was or what the name was for each character.  Instead, you will be given subtle hints and background information that should make it easier for you to formulate your answer.  Plus, a good portion of the questions are true or false and multiple choice.

 The real beauty about the game is that if you don’t know a particular answer, rather than pass, you can use the old “poker bluff” strategy.  Odds are that if the question is a “toughie”, your opponents probably aren’t 100% sure of the correct answer either, so why not have some fun and really test their knowledge. Players have to challenge your answer if they think it is wrong, and the penalty goes against the challenger if your answer is right.  You can even have fun giving a correct answer that sounds like you’re making it up just by the way you deliver your answer.  This tactic follows the same strategy that film makers use to set the audience up for a scare when it ends up being something else like a bird flying by or just the wind.  Your opponents will have to ask themselves, “Is this the real answer or is it something else?”
